description
the "2 active files" mode
caotica2 allows you to have 2 active files at a time. the first is called "source" and the second "auxiliary". some effects (called "interactions") allow you to control the modulation of a sound using another one. when you create a new sound, modify an existing one or pull a window to the foreground, it is immediately considered as source and the previous source as auxiliary. you must then refer to the comboboxes under the menubar to know on which sounds you are working. you can use these comboboxes to control directly the source and auxiliary files.
opening an existing sound
in the"file" menu select "open" (or just press Ctrl+O) if you want to visualize the sound before using it, or "add to list" to use it without wasting time waiting for the analysis.
synthesis of a sound
in the "synthesis" menu, select a synthesis type.
applying an effect
in the "effect" or "interaction" menu select an effect. note that the interactions (excepted "multiply" and "interlace") won\'t work if you don\'t have 2 different files as source and auxiliary.
saving
choose save in the file menu or press Ctrl+S.
